THE HARDSHIP TO GET TO THE NEWEST HOSPITAL

Hundreds of innocent Haitians children are suffering from poor health care, they need your help, and so do I.

I watched from a distance as the 3-year-old boy yelled for help rolling on the ground after a heartbreaking accident. The boy was breathing heavily, gasping for air a few seconds after a speeding motorcycle knocked him so hard. For a minute I did not see a cheerful kid who had a great future ahead. I saw a human soul suffering amid nowhere, an innocent soul whose life was left hanging in the balance. No one had the idea of what to do next. It is a battle that no one plans to enlist. When it arrives, we are forced to take our armor and fight for survival, because? What other choice do we have?

It is a story that has turned from a surprise to an ordinary event happening every few hours in the camps. For kids, moms, dads, and grandparents dying due to lack of the most essential amenities a human soul needs most, health care. Many Haitians seeking refuge in Batey, Dominican Republic are suffering from a lack of health facilities. Their lives are dependent on us and you to help them.

The grace of Almighty is upon you! I am writing this letter on behalf of “Children with Dignity” a non-governmental organization and non-profit whose main course is to empower underserved children through education, social services, advocacies, and human rights. The organization is legally recognized by the New York State Department as an LLC and as a 501 (c) (3).

The non-profit is dedicated to standing for the dignity of impoverished children, especially those belonging to the vulnerable Haitian community residing in Amina, Santiago, Dominican Republic. These Haitians who became undocumented immigrants or “illegal aliens” are still struggling through a huge regional humanitarian crisis! They’re unable to get legal jobs, enjoy legal protections and privileges and yet find themselves in critical conditions leading to unsustainable situations for a dignified life. We believe that everyone deserves happiness and purposeful life. The immigrant suffering and others facing death in the absence of a nearby health facility. To curb the situation, we have decided to build a health center for the Haitian community to improve their overall health, wellness, and quality of life, bringing hope once more to brighten up their lives for a better future. To meet our fundraising goal, it will truly take a village. Are you able to support this incredible cause? Any amount you can contribute will make a difference—even $5. We believe that children should be loved, nurtured, and valued.

Statistics show that unprecedented 70.8 million people around the world have been forced from home. Among them are nearly 25.9 million refugees, over half of whom are under the age of 18 as a result of persecution, conflict, violence, or human rights violations at end-2018. With 3.5 million people as asylum seekers, it would be inhuman to turn our backs to the innocent Haitians seeking asylum in our nation, and in Amina, Santiago, the Dominican Republic in particular. It’s heartbreaking, only 92,400 refugees have found settlement worldwide. The figures are an indication of how brutal the world we are living in has changed and a confirmation that there are people in need of our safety from conflict, diseases, hunger, and war. Our organization houses (yy) children that need our care.

Unfortunately, someone has to find refuge far from his motherland due to political and other differences. The individuals living under our care have had great memories until the ordeal of war changed their stories. They are forced to live in hiding, hoping one day everything goes back to the good old days. When I watch them fighting for survival, with no idea what might happen in the next minute, I feel sorry. When someone falls sick, the 3-hour journey to the closest clinic facility becomes the most challenging moment. You can see the fear in the person’s eyes. It is fear that I can resonate with because I have seen it in many people’s eyes. It is a moment that you realize of a will that you never thought you had. A moment that changes how you view the world. It is a moment of terrible fear because sickness is an unfortunate situation that no amount of money, no amount of privilege can make you exempt. And when it chooses you, you suddenly thrust into a war you never enlisted in.

The community needs to see the two sides of the people who matter the most to them in the world, and that is me and you. As we wrap them in our love and led them our strength. Let us help them build the clinical facility because there is no other choice they have. Your generous donation will be used to help build the clinical facility for the innocent souls seeking refuge in our nation. The cost of the clinical facility is (cost here). With these funds, our organization will be able to fund various avenues as projected below.
